It may turn out that you need to return an item purchased from LawBooksForLess.com. Although most law school bookstores have strict “no-return” policies, we are not like most law school bookstores. Our Returns Policy, which is set forth below, is designed to accommodate your needs. To guide you through the returns process, we have also set forth below a list of Frequently Asked Questions. Returns Policy
In most cases, you can return an item within 21 days of delivery to you for a full item refund. We are not able to exchange an item for another product unless you received a defective or incorrect item.
We cannot process returns of certain items, including:
- Any item that is returned more than 21 days after delivery to you. In addition, if you request that we re-ship any non-returnable items that have been returned to us, you are responsible for any re-shipping expenses.
- Any item that is not in its original condition, is damaged, or is missing parts.
- Any CD, DVD, VHS tape, software or cassette tape that has been opened or taken out of its plastic wrap.
To Prepare a Return for us:
- Provide in your return package a copy of your invoice and a written explanation for the return.
- Please send all returns via a shipping method that can be tracked, such as USPS Priority Mail with delivery confirmation or UPS Ground. It is your responsibility to make sure that the item you return is actually delivered to our warehouse. For your convenience and protection we have enclosed a FedEx Ground return shipping label that will allow us to track any returns. Once you have prepared your return, you can call 800-GO-FEDEX to schedule a pick up, or drop the box off in any FedEx drop box or at any FedEx Kinkos.
- Remember to ship the items with adequate packaging material to avoid damage to the product.

Can I still return my item to LawBooksForLess.com?
You may return most items purchased at LawBooksForLess.com within 21 days of its delivery to you. In some limited cases, however, items are not eligible for return.
When does the 21-day return period begin to run?
The 21-day return period begins to run on the day your order was delivered to you (the "Date of Delivery"). For our purposes, the Date of Delivery is the delivery day indicated on your order’s shipping tracking information. To qualify for a return, you must ship your return back to us before 21 days have elapsed from the Date of Delivery.
Who pays shipping costs on returned items?
Shipping costs on returned items are the responsibility of the customer, unless the return is occasioned by the delivery of a damaged, defective, or incorrect item to the customer. LawBooksForLess.com will provide you with a pre-paid shipping label for your return item. A return shipping/restocking fee ($8 for the first item; $2 for each additional item) will be assessed and deducted from the amount we ultimately credit back to you.
What if I return an item after the 21-day return period or I return a non-returnable item?
LawBooksForLess.com will retain all returned items received beyond the 21-day return period, and all items that are designated as non-returnable, and no return will be processed for these items. If the customer wants LawBooksForLess.com to re-ship such items, the customer must give notice to LawBooksForLess.com within 30 days of returning the item, and the customer must pay the shipping charges for the re-shipment.
Can I exchange a return item for another item?
Unfortunately, we do not process exchanges. You can, however, return for a refund any item that qualifies under our Returns Policy, and then immediately place a new order at LawBooksForLess.com for the item you desire. Both your return and your new order will then be processed simultaneously, saving you a great deal of time.
What can I do if I received the wrong item and/or wrong quantity of items?
Please review the packing slip that was included with your shipment and then log on to your Customer Account. If the items you received are listed there, then those items were in your shopping cart when you checked out at LawBooksForLess.com. Because it is your responsibility to verify that the correct items are in your shopping cart at checkout, we will not pay shipping costs for the return of any items that were in your cart at checkout. If the items you received are not the items indicated either on your packing slip or in your Customer Account, please contact us immediately at admin@lawbooksforless.com. We will give you a pre-paid shipping label for the return of the incorrect item(s). We will also promptly ship the correct items to you.
What can I do if I received a damaged or defective item?
If an item you received is damaged or defective, please contact us within three (3) days of receiving the delivery at admin@lawbooksforless.com. We will give you a pre-paid shipping label for the return of the damaged or defective item, and we will promptly ship a replacement item to you. The replacement item sent to you must be the same item that you originally purchased. If you are unable to get a software item to function properly, please contact the technical support department of the software developer, as this method can often quickly and successfully resolve your problem.
How long will it take to process my return?
We generally process returns and refunds within 5-7 business days of receiving your return in our warehouse.
How long will it take for my refund to appear on my credit card account?
Your refund should appear on your credit card account between 3-5 business days of its processing by LawBooksForLess.com. Unfortunately, the amount of time it takes for your refund to appear on your credit card statement is out of our control and varies depending on the amount of time it takes your credit card processor to update its information.
What is your 30-Day New Edition Guarantee?
LawBooksForLess.com carries only the most current editions, as released by the publisher, of every title in our inventory. If you find that the publisher releases, within 30 days of your purchase date, a more recent edition of the title you purchased from us, please contact us to arrange a return and we will send you the new edition at no cost to you.
