Hold up, I want to cancel my order!  How can I do that?
To cancel an order, please email us at admin@lawbooksforless.com requesting cancellation of your order.  If your order has not yet shipped, we will cancel your order and your credit card will not be charged.  If your email is received after your order has shipped, you can refuse delivery of the package.  Once we receive your package, your return will be processed according to our Return Policy.

What’s the status of my order?
If you would like to check the status of your order, you can click on the “order status” tab in your Customer Account.   If your order has already shipped, you may be able to obtain its shipment tracking information as well.

When will you charge my credit card?
We will charge your credit card when we ship all (or part of) your order. Occasionally, when you make a purchase using your credit card, your bank or credit card company may put on your card a temporary "hold" for the amount of your purchase.  Although this may look like a charge has been processed, it is not a charge.  It is a hold that expires within 1-3 business days.  Credit card companies do this to make sure that you do not exceed your credit limit.

I need to contact someone about my order, how can I do that?

How do I return an item I purchased?

What can I do if I received the wrong item and/or wrong quantity of items?
Please review the packing slip that was included with your shipment and then log on to your Customer Account.  If the items you received are listed there, then those items were in your shopping cart when you checked out at LawBooksForLess.com.  Because it is your responsibility to verify that the correct items are in your shopping cart at checkout, we will not pay shipping costs for the return of any items that were in your cart at checkout.  If the items you received are not the items indicated either on your packing slip or in your Customer Account, please contact us immediately at admin@lawbooksforless.com.  We will give you a pre-paid shipping label for the return of the incorrect item(s).  We will also promptly ship the correct items to you.

What can I do if I received a damaged or defective item?
If an item you received is damaged or defective, please contact us within three (3) days of receiving the delivery at admin@lawbooksforless.com.  We will give you a pre-paid shipping label for the return of the damaged or defective item, and we will promptly ship a replacement item to you.  The replacement item sent to you must be the same item that you originally purchased.  If you are unable to get a software item to function properly, please contact the technical support department of the software developer, as this method can often quickly and successfully resolve your problem.

How do I place an international order that will ship outside of the United States?
We can process orders to be shipped outside of the United States, but these orders cannot be placed online at LawBooksForLess.com.  If you would like to arrange for shipment of an item outside of the United States, please complete the International Order Form with the names of the items you would like to purchase so we can calculate your international order shipping quote.  We will then email a shipping quote back to you, along with ordering instructions. We cannot ship to all international addresses.

How do I place an order via fax?
We do accept orders by fax.  The easiest way to submit a fax order is to shop in the regular manner at LawBooksForLess.com by clicking the "Buy Now" button to place the items you desire into your online shopping cart.  Continue through the online checkout system, choosing your shipping method along the way.  Once you reach the last checkout page, instead of submitting your order online, simply print out the order summary.  Then, print out, and complete the Fax Cover Sheet and fax it to us with your order summary at: 508-746-4669.

How do I place an order via mail or pay with check/money order payment?
We do accept mail orders.  The easiest way to submit a mail order is to shop in the regular manner at LawBooksForLess.com by clicking the "Buy Now" button to place the items you desire into your online shopping cart. Continue through the online checkout system, choosing your shipping method along the way. Once you reach the last checkout page, instead of submitting your order online, simply print out the order summary and mail it, along with your payment, to:

Please not that payment by check can cause a delay of 4-7 business days in the shipment of your order because your check must clear all processing banks before it can ship from our warehouse.  For this reason, we recommend payment by money order, which will allow us to ship an order without delay.

How can I be sure I am buying the latest edition available?
LawBooksForLess.com carries only the most current editions, as released by the publisher, of every title in our inventory.  If you find that the publisher releases, within 30 days of your purchase date, a more recent edition of the title you purchased from us, please contact us to arrange a return and we will send you the new edition at no cost to you.

I live in Massachusetts and just got charged sales tax on my order. How come?
LawBooksForLess.com is based in Plymouth, MA and must charge sales tax for orders to be delivered to addresses within Massachusetts. For orders shipped to other states, you are solely responsible for any sales or use taxes if applicable.

Will I receive automatic updates for the titles I purchase?
We do not provide automatic updates for the titles we offer.  Your purchase price is only for the edition that you order.  Most of the titles we carry are updated only every 2-3 years.

How safe and secure is my credit card information?
We provide two layers of credit card security at LawBooksForLess.com.  First, our secure server encrypts all submitted information so that you can safely enter your entire credit card number when you place an order.  Second, we do not store the credit card numbers provided during order placement.  Your credit card number is used only once, in an encrypted form, during a transaction and is never recorded on our server.  Thus, there is virtually no risk of having your credit card information stolen.

Are you guys ever closed?
Don works us to the bone, but as patriotic Americans we observe and are closed on ten national holidays: New Years Day (1/1), MLK's Birthday (1/16), President's Day (2/18), Memorial Day (5/26), Independence Day (7/4), Labor Day (9/1), Columbus Day (10/13), Veteran's Day (11/11), Thanksgiving (11/27), Christmas (12/25).
